The Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the sales department. Their duties include hiring and training sales staff, relaying information from management to the sales team about sales quotas, and generating leads to divide among Sales Representatives.

Duties for this position include:

  • Overseeing local and regional sales, promotions, and campaigns
  • Planning and directing the hiring and training of new Sales Representatives
  • Directing and coordinating all sales activities locally and regionally
  • Preparing sales budgets and projections and approving expenditures
  • Tracking and analyzing sales statistics based on key quantitative metrics
  • Handling and resolving customer complaints regarding a product or service
  • Making data-informed decisions to drive performance and resource allocation
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key clients
  • Setting sales quotas and goals
  • Overseeing and directing the performance of the sales team
  • Identifying emerging markets to find new sales opportunities
  • Defining and executing territory sales plans


  • Previous sales management experience is a must
  • Strong leadership qualities required
  • Natural ability to build rapport with clients
  • Successful Door 2 Door sales experience
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License with a good driving record
  • Must have a vehicle with a current registration
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
  • Construction industry knowledge required
  • Insurance supplement knowledge required
  • Xactimate knowledge preferred
  • Must be able to work evenings and some weekends during storm season
  • Must show a track record of success in roofing sales and sales management
  • Time management skills are a must
  • Must be detail oriented and able to efficiently multi-task
  • Must be fluent in English, additional language proficiency is a bonus


  • 90-day probation period
  • Directly responsible for the hiring and training of new Sales Representatives to form a Sales Team
  • Ensure the Sales Team is trained properly
  • Must meet minimum monthly sales goals
  • Performance-based salary of commission on top of a base salary
  • Effectively run morning sales meetings to review sales goals and production
  • Conduct weekly continuous sales training: 2-3 hours per week
  • Conduct time studies of the sales team to increase productivity
  • Ensure monthly company sales goals are met
  • Terminate the employment of any sales team member not producing
  • Not a desk-only job! Sales manager is expected to be in the field training, observing, and assisting sales team as needed
